Police are looking for the person who shot a young woman at an Airbnb vacation home rental in Fort Lauderdale early Monday morning.

The Fort Pierce woman, 19-year-old Myrah Zeigler, was shot around 4:30 a.m. and found by officers on the road outside the home at the 900 block of Southwest 16th Street, police said.

The shooting was the result of an argument that turned physical and someone pulled out a gun, said Sgt. David Soika, a police spokesman. Paramedics took Zeigler to Broward Health Medical Center, where she later died, Soika said.

Airbnb released a statement to Miami Herald news partner, CBS News Miami, condemning the shooting and stressing that parties are not allowed at the company’s rental homes.

“Airbnb bans parties, and we condemn this senseless act of gun violence. We suspended the account of the guest who booked this reservation while we look into the situation further, and we stand ready to assist law enforcement with their investigation.”

Police are asking anyone with information on the shooting to call detectives at 954-828-5570.
