Rosias Octeus stood inches from his mangled, concrete-covered SUV, clutching a plastic bag of his belongings and cradling loose papers, including his vehicle registration.

"Nothing I can do," the 65-year-old Oakland Park resident said repeatedly. Octeus was on his way home from his sister-in-law's house about 2:35 p.m. Monday when he was cut off by another driver, causing him to crash into the Drolma Kadampa Buddhist Center, 140 W. Prospect Road in Oakland Park, he said.
