Pedestrian killed while crossing busy Pompano Beach street
A 25-year-old woman was killed over the weekend when she stepped into a busy Pompano Beach street in front of a moving car, according to the Broward Sheriff's Office.
Rebecca Davison was walking along the north side of the road in the 1300 block of East Atlantic Boulevard around 9 p.m. Saturday with her boyfriend, James Siravo, 26 when Davison crossed over the westbound lanes and stopped in the median.
According to BSO, Davison then stepped into the eastbound lanes — where there isn't a crosswalk — in front of a Volkswagen Passat driven by Scott Biederman, 45.
Davison was pronounced dead on scene.
Traffic homicide detectives continue the investigation.
