Teen stabbed during fight near Hollywood Hills High School, police say
A teen was stabbed during a fight near Hollywood Hills High School Tuesday afternoon, police say.
The fight happened just off campus around North 54th Avenue and North Hills Drive, said Deanna Bettineschi, spokeswoman for the Hollywood Police Department.
When a school resources officer and a school security guard arrived, the fight dispersed, and one teen was found “to have wounds consistent with a stabbing,” Bettineschi said.
Paramedics took the teen to a hospital in stable condition, she said. Police have detained one person, according to Bettineschi. Authorities have not identified either the victim or the person detained.
Bettineschi said detectives are investigating the stabbing.
Cathleen Brennan, a spokeswoman for Broward Public Schools said the administration at Hollywood Hills High “is in communication with that student’s family and is working closely with the Hollywood Police Department in its investigation.”
