An upgraded convention center with a new 801-room hotel, airport improvements and countywide public-transportation enhancements are among the projects being celebrated in Broward County’s annual financial report, issued to the County Commission this week.
County Administrator Monica Cepero pointed to a number of improvements geared toward tourism, including the expansion of the Broward County Convention Center and the construction of the new hotel, operating under the Omni banner, at 1950 Eisenhower Blvd.
Both projects are expected to be completed within months, with the center improvements wrapping up over the summer and the hotel opening this fall.
