Shooting leaves one hospitalized in serious condition, Fort Lauderdale police say

A man was taken to the hospital with serious injuries after being shot in Fort Lauderdale on Wednesday night, police say.

The shooting happened at the 800 block of Northeast 62nd Street around 8:40 p.m., said police spokeswoman Casey Liening.

Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue paramedics took the victim to Broward Health North, said Liening.

Police have “identified and located the shooter,” Liening added. Neither the shooter or victim had been identified as of Wednesday night.

“The investigation is ongoing to determine the circumstances that led to this incident,” Liening said.
