National Black Chamber meeting in Hollywood

The National Black Chamber of Commerce is hosting it 23rd annual conference in Hollywood through Saturday at the Hilton Diplomat Resort & Spa. This year’s theme: “The Family Business.”

NBCC’s conference tackles the importance of education and keeping Historic Black Colleges and Universities viable, procurement, capital access, census data as marketing tools and international trade, and more. The Pass The Torch Young Entrepreneurs Business Pitch Competition and mentorship panel on Friday will give aspiring business owners, ages 17-27, the chance to pitch business ideas, products and new technology to a panel of executives and celebrity judges that include actor, activist, and entrepreneur Lamman Rucker and V.P. and co-founder of FUBU and CEO of FUBU-TV J. Alexander Martin. NBCC’s “Fashion Means Business” Charity Celebrity Runway Show on Friday to support the creative leaders in fashion. will be hosted by actress Brely Evans.
