Trooper, car passenger taken to hospital after traffic stop
An FHP trooper and a car passenger were taken to the hospital Tuesday evening after a traffic stop on Interstate 75 near Weston.
The Florida Highway Patrol said the trooper pulled the car over for speeding and approached the passenger side of the car.
At one point, the passenger got into an altercation with the trooper and got out of the car.
That’s when the trooper, based on the passenger’s actions, needed to use the taser on the passenger, according to FHP.
Both the trooper and the passenger were taken to Cleveland Clinic.
It’s unclear if the passenger will face charges.
