Police search for armed suspect after Plantation shooting. No threat to public safety, police say

A domestic-related shooting in Plantation late Saturday morning has prompted a police search for an armed suspect.

The shooting occurred in the 7000 block of West Sunrise Boulevard, but details about the victim have not yet been released.

Plantation Police Department has identified the shooter and is actively searching the area. West Sunrise Boulevard and Northwest 65th Avenue were closed but roads reopened as of 3:05 p.m.

Residents who live in that area were advised to stay indoors until further notice, but police have since given the all-clear. Police say this is an isolated incident and there is no concern for public safety.
