A Broward private-school teacher turned herself in Friday after deputies charged her with engaging in sexually activity with a 14-year-old boy, authorities said.

Candace Brown, 35, turned herself in to the Broward Sheriff’s Office at the county’s main jail on two counts of lewd and lascivious battery and one count each of lewd and lascivious conduct and transmission of material harmful to a minor by electronic device.

Details on what occurred between Brown and the student were not released, but she has been a teacher at Sawgrass Adventist School, 11701 NW 4th St. in Plantation. It is unknown what her job status is. The boy told detectives the sex acts took place in Deerfield Beach during the summer, it’s unclear where.
