Hollywood Police search for would-be kidnapper

Hollywood police are searching for a man who tried to abduct two women in separate incidents early Friday.

In both cases, the potential kidnapper threw a sheet over the victim’s head and grabbed her. The first time, he ran away after a car approached. The second time, he ran away after the victim — who was on her way to school — screamed and fought back.

The incidents happened just minutes apart: first, at 6:33 a.m. at 1900 Funston St., and then at 6:46 a.m. at 301 S. 21st Ave.

Police are looking for a man who is five-foot-seven to five-foot-nine and weighs 130 to 140 pounds. He has a full beard and was wearing a black baseball cap, black shirt and black jeans.

Anyone with information about the man should contact the Hollywood Police Department at 954-967-4321 or 954-967-4411. Tips can also be reported anonymously to Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-8477.
