The U.S. Coast Guard is aiding Bahamian officials in their search of a woman who fell overboard from a Taylor Swift-themed Royal Caribbean cruise ship that left Miami — landing in the waters off the island nation late Tuesday night.

The 66-year-old woman, whom authorities have not named, fell from the Allure of the Seas ship around 9:40 p.m., said Petty Officer 3rd Class Eric Rodriguez. The ship’s crews launched a search and notified the Coast Guard at 10:30 p.m..

The Coast Guard’s South Florida air crews are trying to locate the woman with assets including an HC-144 patrol plane and an MH-65 helicopter, he said, noting the Royal Bahamas Defense Force is leading the search with boats and aircraft.

The ship was about 17 miles off the coast of Nassau, in the Bahamas, when the she went overboard, Rodriguez said.

In a statement to the Herald, Royal Caribbean officials confirmed they launched an initial search and are now cooperating with the Coast Guard and Royal Bahamas Defense Force’s efforts.

“Our crew immediately launched a search and rescue effort and is working with local authorities,” a Royal Caribbean spokesperson said. “We are also providing support and assistance to the guest’s family during this difficult time. To respect the privacy of our guest’s family, we have no additional details to share.”
