Sawgrass Expressway shut down during rush hour, Florida officials say. What we know
All rush hour traffic going north on the Sawgrass Expressway is being diverted, causing growing stand-still traffic, after state troopers shut down all lanes, officials say.
Around 4:50 p.m., Florida 511 reported all northbound lanes of the Sawgrass Expressway at Coral Ridge Drive were closed due to Florida Highway Patrol activity.
The Coral Springs-Parkland Fire Department was initially called to the scene but were called off by troopers before they could get there, Deputy Fire Chief Michael Mosser said.
Details on the investigation were not immediately available.
This is a developing story.
