Eastbound lanes of I-595 in Broward reopen after a tanker crash near University Drive

The eastbound lanes of I-595 west of University Drive reopened around 1: 20 p.m. after a collision between a gasoline tanker and a semi truck that occurred at 9 a.m shut them down.

The accident created a significant mess and a major cleanup according to Florida Highway Patrol spokesperson Indiana Miranda.

Eastbound traffic was diverted at Pine Island Road, with assistance from Davie Police Department.

The express lanes remained open and unaffected by the incident.
