Man seriously hurt after airboat crash in Everglades near Miami-Dade and Broward line

A man was seriously injured after an airboat crashed in the Everglades near the Miami-Dade and Broward County line Sunday morning, according to officials.

Just after 10:30 a.m., Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue was called to Mack’s Fish Camp, on the 18600 block of Krome Avenue, according to dispatch communications. The wounded man sustained “significant lacerations to the side of his body.”

He was airlifted to Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood and is recovering from his injuries, according to fire rescue.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is investigating the crash.
