Man hospitalized after near drowning off Hallandale Beach, BSO Fire Rescue says

Broward Sheriff’s Office paramedics rushed a man to the hospital after he nearly drowned off Hallandale Beach Friday morning.

The “middle-aged” man was transported to Aventura Medical Center in “very critical condition,” said Battalion Chief Michael Kane, a sheriff’s office Fire Rescue spokesman.

The incident happened shortly after 10 a.m. off 1870 S. Ocean Drive, according to dispatch records.

“CPR was in progress at the time of transport,” Kane said in an email.
