An 8-year-old boy went missing from his Broward County elementary school Tuesday morning, sheriff’s office deputies said. By the afternoon, he was found safe and returned to his family.

Aleus Alfred was last seen leaving Park Ridge Elementary School in Deerfield Beach shortly before 11 a.m., deputies said in a statement.

Bloodhounds, helicopters and canvassing detectives were all utilized to try to find Alfred, the sheriff’s office said. Just before 3 p.m., the sheriff’s office said Alfred was found.
