A small fire inside a Hollywood Walmart triggered an evacuation as firefighters worked to put out the blaze Saturday afternoon, officials said.

Around 4:50 p.m., first responders rushed to the Walmart, 301 S. State Road 7, as reports of a fire came in, Broward County Regional Communications’ dispatch said.

The store was evacuated and Hollywood Fire Rescue put out the small fire, Hollywood Police Spokesperson Deanna Bettineschi said.

One person was detained by police as detectives investigate the fire as a possible arson.

This is a developing story and will be updated.
