Four hospitalized in late night Fort Lauderdale shooting, authorities say

A shooting in Fort Lauderdale late Friday night sent four people to the hospital, officials said.

Around 11 p.m., Fort Lauderdale police were called to a shooting in the area of Northwest 19 Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue, authorities said.

The officers found four people suffering from non-life-threatening injuries. They were transported to local hospitals by Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue and other unknown parties.

Detectives said the shooting may have started as an altercation between two groups. Police believe they are in contact with everyone involved.

Identities of the victims and any suspects have not been released.
