Coral Springs’ Royal Waterworks issued a boil water alert Friday that remained in effect Saturday.
The boil water notice was precautionary but officials didn’t say what spawned the alert. Attempts to reach officials Saturday morning were unsuccessful.

The advisory affects about 4,400 residents, including businesses — south of Wiles Road between University Drive and Riverside Drive, according to neighborhood news site Tap Into Coral Springs.
