A 9-year-old was killed and two other people were hospitalized with serious injuries after two cars T-boned over the weekend, deputies said.

Around 6 p.m. Saturday, the Broward Sheriff’s Office said a Toyota Corolla was driving on West Commercial Boulevard in Tamarac when it made a turn into the path of a Chevrolet Traverse, T-boning the SUV.

Two women and the young boy were in the Corolla and taken to Broward Health Medical Center. The boy later died at the hospital; the women have life-threatening injuries.

Eight people in the Traverse were taken to Northwest Hospital in Margate with minor injuries.

An investigation is still ongoing and it’s unclear whether charges will be filed.
