First Uber, now Lyft: Ride-sharing service leaving Broward
Ride-hailing service Lyft, a smaller competitor to Uber, announced Thursday that it, too, will withdraw from Broward County on July 31. The service will continue to operate in Miami-Dade.
A Lyft spokeswoman said Broward's new law, one of only three in the state and about 50 in the country, "places unnecessarily burdensome requirements on drivers that make it nearly impossible for ride sharing to operate.''
Earlier this week, Uber announced it was leaving Broward at the end of the month.
