After getting reports of a man on a balcony with a gun and asking residents to avoid Andrews Avenue near The Drake Condominium Tuesday afternoon, Fort Lauderdale police took a man into custody.

Police say they got the call at 2:15 p.m. He was taken into custody around 4 p.m. North Andrews Avenue had been closed from the 1700 block to the 2000 block.

Overhead video from WSVN-Channel 7’s traffic helicopter showed police walking the shirtless man out the front door of the condominium, 1800 N. Andrews Ave. Fort Lauderdale police later said via email that he would be held on a Baker Act.
