A Tamarac woman was fatally shot in the head by her husband while she was sleeping early Tuesday morning, authorities said.
Jason Browdy, 35, told Broward deputies that it was an accident.
The Broward Sheriff’s Office said Browdy notified authorities around 6:30 a.m. that he had accidentally shot his 33-year-old wife, Monique.
When police arrived at Browdy’s house in the 5700 block of Tuscany Terrace, the woman was unresponsive.

She was taken to Broward Health Medical Center and died more than six hours later.
Detectives are treating the case as a suspicious death and questioning Browdy.
