The Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show is back this weekend — the 62nd annual — and for fans it must feel like a treat to welcome back perennials after all the COVID-related shutdowns since March 2020.

A sense of normalcy, for instance.

But it could be tough finding parking or getting through the traffic jams during the big event.

Fort Lauderdale’s police department sent out an alert related to traffic for the event, which runs through 6 p.m. Sunday along 90 acres of beachfront and various properties.

Here’s what you need to know:

Show locations

Bahia Mar Yachting Center

Pier 66 Marina

Las Olas Marina

Super Yacht Village at Pier 66 South

Hall of Fame Marina

Greater Fort Lauderdale/Broward County Convention Center.

What drivers should do

“Anticipate delays” if you’re commuting throughout the barrier island and along Las Olas Boulevard, police say. “Plan accordingly.” Consider transportation options like the Fort Lauderdale Water Taxi and bus shuttle system.

The water taxi connects parking lots to the north, west and south along with connections to the show’s sites and starts one hour before to the show’s 10 a.m. opening and ends one hour after the show closes at 7 p.m. and 6 p.m. daily and Sunday, respectively.

Pre-purchase is required and a day pass is $12. Boats arrive and depart every 15 minutes. Information is at https://www.flibs.com/en/attend/transportation/water-taxi.html.

Bus shuttle service has two routes. The green bus route runs to and from Pier 66, Super Yacht Village, Bahia Mar. The blue bus route runs to and from the Broward County Convention Center. Shuttle service is complimentary to and from the boat show.

Bus shuttle service runs 8:30 a.m.-8:30 p.m. Thursday-Saturday and 8:30 a.m.-7:30 p.m. Sunday.
