Hallandale Beach police search for gunman

Hallandale Beach police were searching for a man Tuesday night who they say shot and killed another man earlier in the day.

According to police, Stefan Giovanni Stewart, 23, shot John Henry Richburg, 27, as he sat in the passenger seat of a white van parked around 1 p.m. Tuesday at 805 Foster Road in Hallandale Beach.

Police said Stewart approached the van, shot through the window and then took off.

A perimeter was set up and Hallandale Beach officers along with the help of K9s and Broward Sheriff’s Office’s helicopter searched to no avail.

A warrant was issued for Stewart’s arrest and police are hoping he comes forward.
