Another sewer main break in Fort Lauderdale means another precautionary advisory issued

A Sunday morning City of Fort Lauderdale advisory asks residents to avoid water-related activities on the Himmershee Canal and some of the New River after a sewer main break.

The break occurred around 1200 Southeast Second Court and traffic is being detoured from the work area. But the advisory asks to not swim, fish, use Jet Skis, paddleboards, kayaks or canoes in an area bordered on the north by Southeast First and Second Streets; on the south by the New River; on the east by Tarpon Drive; and on the west by Federal Highway.
