A man was shot to death Sunday morning near a gas station in Pompano Beach, reports say.

According to WSVN, the shooting happened at a Chevron gas station near West Sample Road just off Interstate 95 at around 11:30 a.m.

Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies believe the victim, who has not been identified, may have gotten into a physical altercation with another person who then pulled out a gun, opened fire and fled, Local 10 reported.

The man was transported to a nearby hospital by Pompano Beach Fire Rescue. He was pronounced dead. As of Sunday night, no arrests have been made. The investigation is ongoing.

Deputies ask that anyone with information is urged to contact Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
