Fort Lauderdale woman dies in multi-vehicle accident in unincorporated Central Broward

A woman was killed Monday in a multi-vehicle crash in unincorporated Central Broward.

Tiffany Howard, 37, died after the vehicle she rode in was T-boned, according to the Broward’s Sheriff’s Office.

A preliminary investigation revealed that just before 3 a.m. Monday, a Toyota Camry containing a man and Howard was traveling southbound on Northwest 31st Avenue. The man then tried making a U-turn at Northwest 12th Street, which put the car in the direct path of a woman driving a Hyundai Elantra northbound on Northwest 31st Avenue.

The Hyundai then smashed into the Toyota’s passenger side where Howard sat, deputies said.

Directly behind the Hyundai was a man driving a Dodge Charger. Shortly after the initial collision, the Dodge struck either one or both of the vehicles, according to BSO.

Fire rescue took Howard to Broward Health Medical Center where she was later pronounced dead. The Hyundai’s driver and only passenger were also taken to the hospital with critical injuries. Their status is unknown.

It’s unclear whether BSO plans to charge any of the involved parties.
