Another boil water notice has been issued. This time, it’s not Fort Lauderdale
South Florida’s most recent water main break and ensuing precautionary boil water notice occurred Tuesday afternoon — but not in Fort Lauderdale, which has been dealing with these incidents regularly over the last year.
The area under the boil water notice runs from Hiatus Road to Nob Hill Road and Orange Drive to Southwest 25th Street in Davie. The Broward city said the break happened at Orange Drive and Southwest 106th Terrace, dropping water pressure around 4:20 p.m. Tuesday.
Residents in an area that runs about 1.7 miles north to south and 1 mile east to west should bring tap water to a rolling boil for a full minute before using it for drinking, cooking, brushing teeth, making ice or washing dishes. The notice will remain in effect until at least Thursday afternoon.
Neighborhoods affected include Davie West, Davie Farmettes, Hiatus Ranchettes, Long Lake Ranches, Mystique Estates, Hiatus Isles, Lawson Isles, Blackhawk Reserve, Camelot Estates, and Long Lake Estates.
Those with questions can call the city at 954-327-3742, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., or 954-327-3750 after 5 p.m.
