He saw his dog floating in the lake. That wasn’t the worst of it.

First, he saw his dog floating in the lake. Then he saw his wife’s sandals.

The man then called the Broward Sheriff’s office to report that his wife, Ilba Dickey, was missing.

BSO divers went into the Weston lake and found Dickey’s body.

The discovery was made just before 3 a.m. Monday in the 500 block of Racquet Club Road.

Deputies do not suspect foul play in the 62-year-old’s death, according to BSO.

“Investigators did not see any signs of trauma,” BSO said in a news release. “Homicide and crime scene detectives continue to investigate the circumstances of the woman’s death.”

An autopsy will be done to determine Dickey’s cause of death.
