Multi-car rollover crash kills one and shuts down a major road near the turnpike

THURSDAY AFTERNOON UPDATE: The scene has cleared and roads are open again.

Commercial Boulevard has been shut down near the entrance to Florida’s Turnpike by a multi-car crash that has killed one person, the Broward Sheriff’s Office said.

The rollover crash happened in Tamarac around 4:31 a.m. Thursday at the intersection of Commercial Boulevard and Rock Island Road, about a half mile west of the turnpike.

“Motorists are being advised to avoid the area till further notice,” BSO said.
