Improper lane change on I-95 leads to road rage shooting that injured two, FHP says
An improper lane change on Interstate 95 near Hallandale Beach led to a road rage shooting that left two people hurt, the Florida Highway patrol said Wednesday.
A 12-year-old in the car that took fire was uninjured.
A call came in around 2 p.m. reporting an incident between a black Jetta and a silver Nissan in the northbound lanes of I-95, FHP said.
Troopers learned the driver of the Nissan improperly changed lanes in front of the Jetta.
The driver of the black Jetta then pulled up on the passenger’s side of the silver Nissan and fired several times, FHP said.
The passenger of the Nissan, a 35-year-old man, was hit twice and the driver, a 42-year-old woman was grazed. Neither person was identified Wednesday night. A 12-year-old in the backseat was not injured. Both are expected to survive.
FHP said the driver of the Jetta then “sped away and exited off at Pembroke Road where it continued traveling on an easterly direction.”
