Man who cops say suffers from paranoia, delusions has been missing for more than a week

It’s been more than a week since anyone has heard from Helal Uddin Bhuiyan.

The last time anyone spoke to the 59-year-old man was at 10 p.m. April 18. Bhuiyan left his some belongings in a Hollywood hotel room and hasn’t returned.

On Tuesday, police asked for the community’s help in finding the man.

While police say he doesn’t have any diagnosed illnesses, “he does suffer from paranoia and delusions.”

“The subject also made statements to his family about possibly harming himself,” police said.

Bhuiyan, who is 5 foot, 9 inches tall and weighs 150 pounds, was staying at Richard’s Hotel, 1411 S. Federal Hwy., in Hollywood.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Hollywood Police Department at 954-764-4357 (HELP) or 954-967-4411 or Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS (8477).
