Hollywood woman killed in two-vehicle accident down the street from her home
A Hollywood woman was killed in a two-car crash down the street from her home, according to the Broward Sheriff’s Office.
The accident happened just before 8 p.m. Monday near the border of Hollywood and Dania Beach.
Deputies say Pamela Ennis, 69, was driving eastbound on Charles Street in a 2008 Toyota Corolla when she arrived at North 22nd Avenue, roughly a tenth of a mile from her home.
As Ennis proceeded to cross the intersection, a 2019 Dodge Charger heading southbound on North 22nd Avenue T-boned her driver’s side door. The impact caused both the Charger, driven by 19-year-old Jerrold Pough Jr., and the Corolla to come to a stop on the southeast corner of the intersection in Dania Beach.
Hollywood Fire Rescue took both drivers as well as the Charger’s only passenger to Memorial Regional Hospital, where Ennis was later pronounced dead.
The status of the other two is unknown.
BSO traffic homicide detectives will continue to investigate.
