Woman airlifted to hospital after being shot in road rage incident in Miramar, cops say

A road rage incident in Miramar just before the start of Friday rush hour ended in gunfire, police say.

One woman needed to be airlifted to Memorial Regional Hospital after being shot, according to Miramar police. Her condition is unknown.

The shooting happened just before 4:30 p.m. Friday on County Line Road near the northbound entrance to Florida’s Turnpike.

Police say an unknown shooter opened fire on the woman’s vehicle, then fled the scene. The vehicle’s other passenger, who WSVN reported was her husband, was unharmed.

It’s unclear who initiated the confrontation. The investigation is ongoing.

According to WSVN, police closed part of County Line Road in both directions during the early stages of their investigation. The road has since reopened.
