He was fatally shot inside his car in Pompano Beach, and cops are looking for answers

Detectives are searching for the person behind a double shooting that killed one man and injured another in Pompano Beach .

According to the Broward Sheriff’s Office, an unknown shooter fired into a black Infiniti QX30 around 5 a.m. Monday near the 700 block of Northwest Fifth Avenue.

Inside the vehicle was Jacques Altidor, 31, who was shot several times. Thelbert Brayboy, 24, standing outside the vehicle, was hit in his left arm.

Pompano Beach Fire Rescue took Altidor to Broward Health North, where he died, deputies say. A friend took Brayboy to the same hospital. His condition is unknown.

When investigators returned to the scene Tuesday evening, a deputy shot a dog after it aggressively confronted him, according to the Broward Sheriff’s Office. The canine received treatment for a gunshot wound in its front leg at Hollywood Animal Hospital.
