A Davie driver was ejected from his car and killed Saturday morning after slamming into a Florida’s Turnpike barrier in Davie.

Just after 7:20 a.m., Lenworth Reid, 50, was northbound on Florida’s Turnpike exit ramp to I-595 when he failed to take the curve and drove off the road, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Reid’s 1995 Ford van slammed into a concrete wall barrier, ejecting Reid through the driver’s side window. He died in the road.

The crash report says alcohol was not involved and Reid may not have been wearing his seat belt.

Troopers continue to investigate the crash.
