The call came in as a ‘dead body.’ Then a man was shot by a Hallandale Beach cop
A man who police say had a weapon was taken to the hospital after being shot by a Hallandale Beach police officer.
An unknown person called 911 and said there was a “dead body in the yard” of a home in the area of of Northeast 10th Street and 12th Avenue around 7 a.m. Monday, according to Hallandale Beach police.

Earlier, Dabney-Donovan told Miami Herald’s news partner CBS4 that the “officer was in fear for his life and his safety.”
Video taken by multiple news stations showed a home taped off by crime tape, multiple cruisers in the area shortly after the shooting.
Police have not disclosed how many shots were fired or any additional details about the shooting. The name of the man and the officer who shot him have also not been released.
The man was taken to the hospital. His condition is still unknown.
Police say they are investigating reports that the man was injured before the officers arrived. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is investigating the shooting.
