Multi-car crashes shut down all but one Interstate 95 lane near rush hour’s end
UPDATE: The lanes cleared by 10:30 a.m.
Whatever rush hour traffic relief the holiday week brought in Broward County ended around 9 a.m. with two multi-car crashes about 30 yards apart that shut down all but one northbound lane of Interstate 95 at Sheridan Street.
One crash involving a GMC truck, a Nissan and a third vehicle shut down the express lanes, Florida Highway Patrol said. Another one, about 30 yards away, involved a GMC truck, a white Chevrolet, a beige Hyundai and a black Audi and shut down three of the four general lanes. There were no injuries.
Those heading north into Fort Lauderdale should take the Florida Turnpike, U.S. 441 or U.S. 1.
