He’s broken into 18 Broward cars already. Deputies need help stopping him.

A serial burglar is on the loose in Cooper City and he had already burglarized 18 cars as of Tuesday, deputies said.

The Broward County Sheriff’s Office hasn’t identified the man, but is asking the public to help bring the burglar in.

Video released by deputies shows a man trying to break into several cars early Thursday morning in the 5200 block of Southwest 93rd Avenue. The man was wearing a blue long-sleeved track sweater, black shorts and gray shoes.

As he walked to each car he sported a Fox Sports bag and held two fishing poles, which deputies say he stole along with power tools and one of the cars.

Deputies have responded to 10 homes regarding car burglaries the night the video was taken. He is believed to have burglarized 18 cars. It is not clear how the man was breaking into the vehicles.

Detectives are asking anyone with information to call BSO Cooper City Detective Christopher Neves at 954-435-2200, ext. 275. If you wish to remain anonymous, contact Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-8477.

A reward up to $3,000 is available for information that leads to an arrest.
