Suspect at large in Plantation neighborhood after shooting man on county bus, reports say

Police in Plantation are searching for an “outstanding suspect” following local media reports of a non-fatal shooting on a county bus.

The shooting occurred near Broward Boulevard and Nob Hill Road, WSVN 7 News reports.

The South Florida Sun Sentinel reports that the the suspect exited the bus, prompting police to set up a perimeter in search of the suspect they described as “a short black man with short hair, a dark shirt, tan shorts and a backpack.“

WPLG Local 10 reports the shooting occurred around 3 p.m.

The neighborhoods of Westport and Nob Hill Estates were closed off, and residents told to stay indoors, until about 7:30 p.m., although police continue to search for the suspect.

The shooting victim was taken to Broward Health Medical Center in an unknown condition.
