In a rampage that lasted only about a minute, a burglar managed to get away with more than $4,000 in electronics from a cellphone store in Weston, deputies say.
In footage released by Broward Sheriff’s Office detectives, an unidentified man made his grand entrance at 6:22 a.m. on Oct 1. by smashing the front glass door of Dream Wireless —284 Indian Trace — with a rock.
“The man then violently pulled several displays off the wall trying to disconnect phones from the store’s security cables,” BSO said in a statement. “The burglar’s frenzied approach resulted in several smashed store displays as well as phones and glass being scattered throughout the store.”
Investigators believe the thief is a man in his 20s, is approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs about 130 pounds. He sports and a long goatee, and was wearing light-colored shorts, a dark button-up shirt, a white undershirt, dark shoes and a dark fishing-style hat.
