An argument in the Halloween section of a Hollywood Walmart Friday afternoon left one man with a minor wound, police say.

Hollywood police responded to a call concerning a stabbing at the Walmart store at 301 S. State Rd. 7.

“Officers attempted to conduct an investigation but the person involved said he did not want to cooperate,” said Hollywood Officer Christian Lata.

“He wouldn’t give us any information and just wanted to go to the doctor’s,” Lata said. “He had a minor cut on his hip. We’re not medical professionals so we don’t know if it was from a stabbing. But we did process the crime scene and took photos and that’s in case later on he decides he wants to prosecute. He can come forward and file criminal charges if he wishes to.”

The victim, whose identity was not released, did not give a description of his assailant. That other person was not on the scene when police arrived, Lata said.

Hollywood Fire Rescue Battalion Chief Chris Del Campo told WPLG Local 10 that the victim was taken to nearby Memorial Regional Hospital.

The store remained open.
