Coral Springs officer responding to call bitten by pit bull-mix, department says
An officer responding to a call at a Coral Springs home was injured when a pit bull ran out and bit him in the leg, the department said Tuesday.
Det. Ernesto Bruna, a spokesman for the Coral Springs Police Department, said the officer suffered minor injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The officer was at the home in the 3700 block of Northwest 116th Terrace around noon when the dog, believed to be a pit bull-mix, got out.
Bruna said the dog will be quarantined in the home, and the owner will likely be cited.
