A woman driving her car near Century Village early Monday morning was shot at after she tried to get away during what appears to be an attempted carjacking, Pembroke Pines police said.
And the shooting and attempted carjacking is likely tied to at least two other carjackings Monday morning, one in Miramar and one in Davie, police say.
“This seems like a bit of a crime spree,” said Capt. Al Xiques, a spokesman for Pembroke Pines police. “These are brazen criminals that are a menace to the community.”

According to Pembroke Pines police, a call came in just after 5:30 a.m. reporting a shooting. The woman told police she was driving west in the 12900 block of Pembroke Road when two vehicles stopped in the roadway and blocked her path.
One person, who wore a face covering, got out of the car and walked toward the woman, police said.
“As the victim reversed her vehicle two of the suspects began shooting, striking her vehicle several times,” police said.
The woman was not hit and was able to get away and call police.
One of the cars, a Dodge sedan, which was stolen out of Miami Gardens, was later recovered after being abandoned in Miramar, Xiques said. The other car involved, likely a Volkswagen Jetta, was unaccounted for.
Miramar police said detectives were also working a carjacking early Monday morning. According to Miramar police, a victim was at a Wells Fargo ATM at 6812 Miramar Parkway, when two men approached him and demanded his car.
The men left in the victim’s white 2014 Toyota RAV4 with the temporary tag CBX3078.
Xiques said there was a carjacking in Davie prior to the Pines shooting.
