First he punched the man in the face. Then he ran over him with his Harley.
A fight between two men outside a Davie restaurant led to battery charges for one of the men when he drove his Harley Davidson into a crowd and over the victim, Davie police say.
Evans Enrique Diaz, 32, was arrested and charged with aggravated battery, aggravated assault and simple battery for the Saturday night fight outside Twin Peaks restaurant in Davie at 2000 S. University Dr.
According to an arrest report, Diaz and another man exchanged words inside the restaurant before bringing the fight outside into the parking lot. Diaz punched the other man in the face three to five times as people on both sides tried to separate the men, an officer wrote in the report.
A cellphone video by a witness, released by police, showed the entire incident. The clip begins with the brawl and then the motorcycle’s engine could be heard revving up before coming around a corner and heading directly into the crowd. Witnesses could be heard screaming as the bike careened into the crowd.
Police say the man was hit in the legs and then dragged through the parking lot by the 2010 Harley-Davidson. Police said he had minor injuries.
After crashing into the man, Diaz fell off his bike and was restrained by witnesses until Davie police arrived, according to the report.
