Tri-Rail train hits and kills person on the tracks — and ties up commute for hours
The Tri-Rail commute into Miami-Dade from Broward and Palm Beach became an odyssey-length journey Thursday morning after a train fatally struck a person north of the Golden Glades station after 6 a.m.
Along with keeping the 110 passengers on the train for several hours, the incident and investigation shut down the southbound line between Hollywood and the Golden Glades.
Tri-Rail bused passengers between those stations, according to Miami-Dade police.
The identity of the deceased hasn’t been released.
VIP Bulletin for Tri- Rail NB train P608 is currently stopped at GOL due to a trespasser strike involving SB P603. Updates to follow
