A man was in jail Thursday on a charge of arson after Seminole police said he lit a gasoline-filled orange juice container on fire at the Seminole Casino Coconut Creek.

Adenis Araujo, 43, of Coral Springs was arrested Wednesday in Dania Beach in connection with the Friday night incident that forced an evacuation of the casino, 5550 NW 40th St., and left a wall and carpet scorched.

According to police, Araujo was kicked out of the casino early Friday night for arguing with a woman. Araujo returned to the casino around midnight, police said, and placed the container in the west entrance door.

A casino customer spotted the fire and put it out with a fire extinguisher.

Everyone in the casion was evacuated and returned after the smoke cleared.

Araujo was identified on surveillance video at the casino and at a nearby gas station. He was also identified by casino security officers.
