Two men arrested in murder of Fort Lauderdale woman

More than two months after the fact, two men have been arrested in the murder of a Fort Lauderdale woman.

Harveitz Beaubrun, 19, is charged with murder in the death 18-year-old Lakendra Brown. Martelli Metellus, 24, is charged with being an accessory after the fact of first degree murder, according to Fort Lauderdale Police officials.

Beaubrun and Metellus were located in the City of Riviera Beach by Fort Lauderdale Police detectives and the U.S. Marshals South Florida Fugitive Task Force. They were arrested last week with the help of Riviera Beach Police.

In early February, Brown was found lying outside of a residential neighborhood at 741 NW Third Ave. with a fatal gunshot wound.

Officers administered CPR before Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue arrived and took her to Broward Health Medical Center, where she died.
